Skills for New Leaders – From Doer to Delegator: The Art of Delegation 

One of the most prevalent challenges facing new project managers/leaders is how to effectively delegate tasks to team members.  Several factors contribute to a new leader’s inability or unwillingness to delegate work. These include a feeling of guilt over having “someone else do their work”; the feeling that the manager can do a better job; or the managers’ feelings that it would be quicker to do the tasks themselves rather than show someone else how to do it. This presentation will demonstrate the value of delegating tasks for both the leader and the team member, and provide a 5-step process for effective delegating.
