Study Group Facilitator: Carem Bennett,CSM, PMI-ACP, and PMP.
 
 
Please join us for a four-week, facilitated study group that will go through the Agile Practice Guide, and assist with exam preparation. This study group meets weekly on Friday mornings from 7AM - 8AM over Zoom, beginning February 17th. 
 
This study group is no charge for PMI NH members, it is included in your yearly membership fee. 
 
Please note: this study group does not count toward your required course hours for PMI-ACP application requirements. 
 
Our facilitator is our Manager of Certification Preparation, Carem Bennett. Carem is a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, and PMP. Carem earned her PMI-ACP in October of 2021, and is current on the exam content. Carem works in technology - managing technical curriculum for Ciena. 
 

Schedule/Outline:

February 17 - Introductions

February 24 - Agile Practice Guide Chapter 1 and 2

March 3 - Agile Practice Guide Chapters 3, 4, and 5

March 10 - Agile Practice Guide Chapter 6, 7, and Final test prep Q&A

 

Participant Expectations:

- Participants will register online at least 72 hours prior to the first session (registration cutoff: Wednesday, February 15, 2023).

- A minimum of four participants is required to run the session

 

 Prerequisites: 

  • Secondary degree
  • 21 contact hours of training in agile practices
  • 12 months of general project experience within the last 5 years. A current PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.
  • 8 months of agile project experience within the last 3 years

 

Requirements: 

- Participants to download the PMI Agile Practice Guide at no charge at: https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guide-standards/practice-guides/agile

- Participants will be prepared to speak each session. Video on is not required, but is encouraged.

- Participants will have read the applicable chapter(s) in the Agile Practice Guide

- Participants will bring questions each session: areas for conversation, practice test questions that they are struggling with, questions about the content that they need clarification about, or general questions about the ACP exam process

- Code of conduct: Participants will treat one another with courtesy and respect: we are all students growing in our Agile knowledge collaboratively. Rude or condescending behavior toward other participants will not be tolerated. Areas in which you are strong will benefit participants who are weaker in those areas, and they in turn will assist you with their strengths in your weaker areas.

- Note: Participation in this study group does not count toward your PMI-ACP classroom hours; you must still complete the required 21 contact hours of training in agile practices

 
 Bio: 
 
Carem Bennett is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. she is currently the Senior Manager of Learning Development for Ciena's route switch portfolio. Carem has worked in technology for over 25 years, including technical support, escalation, engineering, and managing technical knowledge organizations. She is certified in PMP, Scrum Master (Scrum Aliance Certified Scrum Master, CSM) and Agile Certified Practioner ( PMI-ACP).
