Lead and Serve Others: Focus on the Team, Not Individuals

Are you trying to create a project team where people are supposed to multitask on several projects with several other teams? Or, you’re supposed to create a totally predictive plan, but your team needs to experiment to deliver what the customers need. Maybe, you don’t have an answer for the reason why the team is doing this work.

What can you do?

Change your leadership from thinking about activities to delivering outcomes. You don’t need to do all the planning and leading—instead, the team can lead itself and deliver. Create an environment where you focus on the team, not each person as an individual.

In this presentation, Johanna will discuss these specific servant leadership actions: the value the team offers, team-based leadership, and how to create an environment where everyone can succeed.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Learn to deliver the business outcomes your organization needs when you create an environment that frees people to do their best work with your leadership.
  • Become a modern leader who leads and serves others—not controls or directs them.
  • Deliver the business outcomes your management wants and needs to see.
