Improv to Improve Your Team’s Performance

Purpose & Outcomes

Honest communication, a collaborative attitude and a strong sense of common purpose…these are the critical characteristics that all high performing teams share. No mindful manager would disagree that these items must be included on every short list for project success. However, there is much divergence on how to cultivate a culture where group excellence will thrive. It may surprise you that the key to understanding teamwork can be traced to the unlikeliest of places…ART. Join me as we explore what it means when managers act as servant artists to help their teams create masterpieces.

The attendees will learn:

  • What it means to be a servant artist in the context of project management.
  • How great project managers are similar to great artists; and what high performing teams have in common with great art.
  • How to use improv to create meaningful connections with their team.
  • How to cultivate a culture synergy for improving their team’s performance.
  • Why the three elements of improv are as easy to use as ABC
  • Why one particular play in a baseball game 20 years ago defines the essence of improv
