Café Roundtables - Meet the Experts - March 2018 - Manchester

Café Roundtables -- Meet the Experts

Instead of our usual dinner speaker concept, we are doing something different for this chapter meeting. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to meet 4 different experts who will share their wisdom and provide tips and tricks on a variety of topics. They will present 15 minutes of information before you go onto to meet your next expert.

When you check-in, you will be able to pick 4 of the 6 topics.

Here is a quick summary of the topics:

Improve Your LinkedIn Profile = More Job Opportunities, AND More Money - Eric Marx, Vice president, Probity

LinkedIn is a powerful tool for Project Managers in a highly competitive job market.  Learn simple tips that can significantly improve your life on a continual basis with minimal effort.

Neuroscience and the Project Manager - Cris Casey, Managing Director/Chief Architect Exertus, Inc.

Recent findings in neuroscience strongly suggest that Project Managers are simultaneously helped and disadvantaged by human evolution. Understand the underlying biological challenges in performing day-to-day activities along with steps to amplify the advantages while mitigating the inherent risks, leading to better project outcomes and a less stressful work-life.

Current Trends in Project Management - Nora Colliton, PMP, PMI-ACP President-elect PMI New Hampshire Chapter

Project Management has changed in the last few years with new tools and methodologies. As the world around us is changing, it is important to know what PMI and other industry leaders believe where it is going and how the role of Project Manager will change.

Better Meeting Management - Lynda Sawicki, PMP, Recording Secretary, PMI New Hampshire Chapter

Teams spend a lot of time in meetings every week at a considerable cost to the company.  How many times have you been in a meeting and your mind starts to wander? As the meeting facilitator you can see the glaze in their eyes and your team is not engaged.   There has got to be a better way.  Learn tips to plan your next team meeting more efficient and make it a more effective use of everyone's time.

Best Collaboration Tips for Project Managers - Ken Quast, PMP, Director of Technology, PMI New Hampshire Chapter

Collaboration makes employees more productive and creative. It helps us feel connected to our work and the people we work with. In general, it makes us happier people. Using these tips won’t guarantee success, but the road to success will be much easier to navigate.

“Tactics for handling a project in jeopardy of failing, no calvary is coming, and failing is not an option.” - Lea Stabler, Owner of Pathways Navigation

How to lead and interact with your team. How to engage the appropriate resources in identifying new approaches to completing the work. What objective to have with regard to reporting with management.

Chapter Meeting Ticket Change - effective January 1, 2018

Starting in January, the  "Pay at the Door" dinner tickets are no longer available.   To receive the Early Bird discount, you will have to use the "Pay Now" ticket options.  This will allow our meeting planner to accurately count the number wanting dinner and prevent over payment for preordered dinners when there is a cancellation or no-show.

Our cancellation policy remains the same, at this time.   If you pay in advance and are unable to attend, you must send a notice to Director of Events before the event.   You will be given a credit for a future chapter meeting.

Thank you for your support in this matter.   We will continue to review our policies and if you have feedback, let us know.
